More that 2/3 of the property in Calavera Hills II will be preserved as open space.  Working with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Environmental Protection Agency, community representatives and other natural resource agencies, Calavera Hills has been designed to ensure that sensitive plant and animal species are given ample space and contiguous wildlife corridors to live in. 

 Some of this open space will be accessible for passive recreation such as hiking and bird watching.  Important natural landmarks such as Mt. Calavera and Lake Calavera will be off limits to all future development.
